Chronic Pain Programme

Chronic pain refers to pain that is long lasting and persistent in nature. Patients suffering with chronic pain often feel helpless and lost as to what they can do to help themselves. This term covers a wide range of conditions such as long term back/neck pain, fibromyalgia, ankylosing spondylitis and arthritis to name a few.

Our therapists have devised a pathway for treatment of these conditions. Patients will attend each of the following in a one week period:

  • Group information session – this is done in a supportive environment where patients can share experiences with people going through the same thing as them. It is hosted by a medical professional who will talk about strategies to help manage their pain.
  • Manual Therapy – this refers to hands on physiotherapy, which may include soft tissue release, acupuncture/dry needling and electrotherapy
  • Group Exercise – evidence points towards exercise as the most effective form of pain management. We will use specific exercises in a class environment to help get on top of your pain.

The programme is run weekly, and we suggest 4-6 weeks attendance.

If you have any questions about the program and if it is suitable for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
