Strong From the Core: Women's Recovery & Wellness

Targeted Fitness Backed by Women’s Health Expertise

As fitness professionals, we believe it's essential to understand how a woman’s body changes, not just during pregnancy and childbirth, but throughout her entire life. These changes affect muscles, joints, hormones, and the pelvic floor, and they deserve expert attention. Safe and effective recovery starts with recognising that every woman’s body and experience is different, and that rehabilitation needs to be personal, supportive, and based on science.

To further enhance the range of women’s health expertise available at Carter & George, two members of our team recently attended the Mummy Fit Pro course. This specialist training strengthens our ability to support women through every stage of life with targeted, expert-led care.

Through our Women’s Health experts, we provide bespoke, empathetic, and evidence-based rehabilitation plans that bridge the gap between fitness and individual wellbeing. Whether you're a young athlete, a new mother, or navigating menopause, our service is here to help you move, feel, and live better.

This can include support for a wide range of conditions such as:

  • Postnatal anatomy and physiology: Including changes to pelvic floor musculature, abdominal wall function, and joint stability

  • Common postnatal conditions: Such as diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, and their impact on physical function

  • Load management and progression: Knowing how to apply optimal mechanical stress to support tissue healing without risking re-injury

  • Movement prescription: Grounded in the latest evidence, tailored to each woman’s stage of healing and functional goals

One of the most critical lessons from the Mummy MOT® framework is this: no woman’s experience is the same, and care should reflect that.

That’s why a one-size-fits-all approach simply doesn’t work.

Your Mummy Fit Pro is trained to:

  • Assess individual capacity and dysfunction

  • Identify red flags and refer when necessary

  • Adapt programs responsively, using client feedback, clinical insight, and objective outcomes to guide progression

  • Reintroduce higher-level movements safely, whether the goal is returning to daily function, lifting heavy, or competition

  • To discuss experiences in an educated, empathetic, safe environment and empower and encourage females to enjoy their fitness journeys.

We’re proud to continually explore new ways to support women in being their healthiest, strongest, and most confident selves at every stage of life.
