Rhys is co-founder and director of The Carter & George Practice. Together with business partner Jamie, he had a vision to create a clinic that could offer elite medical treatment to everyone. The dream was to create a state-of-the-art facility that used modern equipment and technology, and to have a variety of experts across a mixed professional background delivering world-class treatment, with a community focus at its core.
Since opening the first clinic in 2018, Rhys has successfully overseen the launch and growth of clinics in Hertford, Radlett and Hitchin.
Rhys has a diverse background in the physiotherapy field, but specialises in chronic back and neck pain and sports injuries. Sports injuries, spinal pain, complex chronic pain and degenerative tendon and joint conditions make up the majority of his caseload. He often receives referrals for second opinions. Rhys uses a variety of techniques such as joint manipulation, manual therapy, myofascial release and electrotherapy, alongside advance practice skills such as diagnostic ultrasound scanning, IMS Needling and Shockwave Therapy
He also makes use of his qualification as a Functional Movement Specialist and Sports Performance Therapist with both athletes and the general public. Rhys is focused on the underlying cause of pain, and never the temporary relief of symptoms. He has worked successfully with a variety of professional and amateur athletes from a range of sporting disciplines – particularly golf, boxing, Crossfit and rugby.
Prior to working at The Carter & George Practice, Rhys worked with the Singapore Institute of Sport, with Dragons Rugby in Dubai (UAE), and in private practice in London. He also worked as the lead physiotherapist at V Festival, treating international artists backstage and was the Head Physiotherapist for the Dubai 24hr motor race with Renault. When he isn’t in the clinic, Rhys is most likely to be found on the golf course, at the cricket nets or planning his next travel adventure.
