Matt Plater:

Matt is highly experienced in the field of physiotherapy, specialising in sports and musculoskeletal injuries. He focuses on providing evidence-based physio assessment for a wide range of conditions including back issues, hip and knee pathology, shoulder impingement as well as sporting injury.

He utilises a combination of manual therapy and exercises in order to help his patients reach their optimal performance goals. He is passionate about helping people achieve their physical activity goals, become pain free and enabling them to return to full fitness as quickly as possible.

In addition to this, Matt is a certified physiotherapist in Kinesio Taping, Dry Needling and Acupuncture. He is also trained in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM) to improve tissue healing and reduce pain. He actively keeps up with the latest research and evidence-based physiotherapy practice as he believes that this is essential for providing the best care possible.

Sophie Gregory:

Sophie specializes in sports injury and tendons related problems, using shockwave therapy treatment to give her patients effective pain relief. In addition to hands-on treatments such as sports massage and dry needling/acupuncture, Sophie also believes in a holistic approach to treatment, combining manual therapy with progressive exercise prescription in order to achieve optimal results.

Aside from her professional work, Sophie is an active athlete herself and has played rugby, gymnastics and netball. She currently works with Saracens Mavericks netball.

Sophie understands that not all injuries require rest, and if she can manage to keep her patients on the field or in the gym, she will do her best to make that happen.

Strength & Conditioning:

At Carter & George Physio, Hitchin, we understand the importance of strength and conditioning for injury rehabilitation. Our team provide tailored programmes which focus on improving strength, range of motion and movement control to help facilitate recovery from injury.
